American Herbalists Guild

The American Herbalists Guild was founded in 1989 as a non-profit, educational organization to represent the goals and voices of herbalists specializing in the medicinal use of plants. Our primary goal is to promote a high level of professionalism and education in the study and practice of therapeutic herbalism. The AHG Louisiana Chapter is a subchapter of the American Herbalist Guild.

Allen Acres Bed and Breakfast - Cravens, LA

Dr. Aviva Romm - New York, NY

Aviva Romm studied midwifery in the 80’s under the amazing Ina Mae Gaskin. While practicing midwifery for over 20 years, Aviva authored several books on natural approaches to women and children’s health and also served as President of the American Herbalist Guild. At age 39, Aviva went to Yale Medical School. Dr. Romm currently operates a clinic in Manhattan, writes a blog, runs a podcast, offers online courses, and offers countless other resources to those wanting to a science-backed, natural approach to health.

Amanda McAlister

Amanda is a co-founder and co-president of the AHG Louisiana chapter. She is a clinical herbalist with over 1,300 hours of training in the clinical applications of herbalism, biochemistry, pathophysiology, nutrition, safety, and phytochemistry. Amanda is also a licensed EMT and a Kundalini yoga instructor. She is highly skilled at addressing the mind-body system affected by dis-ease. Reach out to Amanda for guidance and encouragement on how to live and heal more closely with nature.
